Family and Adopted Family

Just wanted to share some pics of the fun we had when my sister Michelle, her bone marrow donor Tony, and his wife Stella came to visit us. We had SUCH a great time together! They truly are like family to us.

Tony and Stella are from England and had never been to California before, so we tried to show them as much as we could in a week.

Post-Company Depression??

I think I have come up with a new malady. Post-Company Depression. It's what happens when you have people come from out of town to visit you, and you have such a wonderful time with them that you are totally sad and depressed when they leave. That's what I have. PCD.

So. Listen up, Michelle, Tony & Stella. You better get back here REALLY soon so I can be cured of this terrible disease. And I mean SOON, you cheeky monkeys! :-)

School days, school days....

I work as a secretary at a private Christian school. The teachers all came back today for a week long teacher in-service before school actually starts next Tuesday. They attend staff/faculty meetings, set up their rooms, etc.

At a staff meeting this morning, I noticed that the teacher whose room we were using had already placed many decorative things on her walls. This one sign was what really caught my attention:

A New Nephew!!

Yes, we have a brand new nephew! Brett Thomas Hough was born this morning at 4:55 cst, and weighed in at 10 lbs., 3 oz., and is 21" long. Woo Hoo!!! Congrats to my brother Scott, his wife Denise, and big sis Bailee.
As soon as I get some pictures of this new little guy, I will post them.

Home at Last!

Although these pictures were taken while in Iraq, our nephew Adam is now home! He arrived in Dallas this morning and everyone is happy, relieved and thanking God for bringing him home safely and in one piece. We're very proud of you and so glad you're home Adam!!

This is a fun one! I didn't remember that we had actually ridden a green coaster until I looked back into my files. My husband Drew took this one at Universal Studios Florida; my three kids and I are in the front row. Great ride!!

The upper picture is a very rare shot at Disneyland-- NO PEOPLE! I couldn't believe that I got to take a shot like that with no one around. Awesome. The lower picture is of Tori and Drew trudging up a hill to take another turn at sledding. I didn't think I would find any green in my Mt. Shasta winter pictures, but I did!! The one above was taken at the "Punchbowl" (National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific) looking toward Diamond Head. The one below on the left was taken on a boat ride at the Polynesian Cultural Center; the right picture was taken on the Arizona Memorial looking toward the Battleship Missouri in Pearl Harbor. The Cactus Cuties

It's a great video of a group of little girls, aged 8 to 13, singing the National Anthem at a Texas Tech basketball game. Their harmony is amazing, and definitely worth listening to. Enjoy!
